Modern Warfare 2's 'Groot' skin continuing to wreak havoc in Modern Warfare 3

UPDATE 21/11/23: Sledgehammer Games will “disable” Modern Warfare 3’s Groot-like Gaia cosmetic in a future update, following player complaints about the almost invisible skin. It will then proceed to make “adjustments” to the skin before introducing it back to the game.

As we reported last week, many were unhappy with the Gaia skin. This was due to it being incredibly dark and see-through in places, making it almost indistinguishable from many of the surroundings in Modern Warfare’s multiplayer maps (both 2 and 3).

This led many to implore that Sledgehammer remove the skin from the game to allow for fairer play. The developer has evidently got the message.

“Adjustments to Gaia and Gaia Blackcell Operator Skins are in the pipeline for Modern Warfare III,” the developer shared during an AMA on Reddit. “In a future game update, we’ll disable this item until said changes can be released to all players.”
