Taylor Twellman investigated for alleged physical altercationMLS says review found "incidental contact" was madeSoccer analyst has returned to work for MLS Season PassFollow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱WHAT HAPPENED?

Taylor Twellman is set to return to the commentary booth for MLS Season Pass after an MLS review found that there was no intentional physical contact between the former USMNT forward and a production assistant during Inter Miami's playoff game against Atlanta United on Oct. 25. An employee allegedly had a physical altercation with Twellman.

MLS said Friday that it had investigated the incident, found no wrongdoing, and reinstated Twellman to his commentary duties.

MLS issued a statement to GOAL, saying: "Following the Atlanta United at Inter Miami match on Oct. 25, a member of the production crew alleged that MLS Season Pass analyst Taylor Twellman made physical contact with him in the broadcast booth. Once Major League Soccer was made aware of the allegation, the League immediately opened a review of the allegation and Twellman was removed from his scheduled assignment on Nov. 9 while the review was ongoing.

"This process included interviews with individuals who were present in the commentary booth at the time of the incident. After this review, MLS determined that this was not a physical altercation, but that Twellman made incidental contact with the member of the production crew in an effort to communicate with him without audibly interrupting the live broadcast. Twellman has returned to work for MLS Season Pass."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Twellman is an influential figure within the American soccer landscape. The former USMNT and MLS striker was a long-time analyst for ESPN, and moved to Apple TV in 2023 following a massive 10-year agreement to cover MLS.
